We are proud to announce that Hiring Our Heroes has been selected as one of the inaugural recipients of the Opportunity for All grant from the Starbucks Foundation.

Building on over 20 years of giving, the Starbucks Foundation has a long legacy of supporting organizations working to create job and education opportunities. With its new Opportunity for All initiative, the organization is deepening its focus on three populations – youth, veterans and military spouses, and refugees.

Starbucks is a member of the Hiring Our Heroes Veteran Employment and Military Spouse Advisory Councils (VEAC/MSEAC) and participating in this grant program will deepen the already long-standing relationship between Hiring Our Heroes and Starbucks.

Hiring Our Heroes will receive grants for its Military Spouse Program’s In Gear Career Chapters located in Fayetteville, North Carolina; San Diego, California; and the National Capital Region. These networking chapters provide military spouses with career development and networking opportunities in military communities around the world.

Hiring Our Heroes and Starbucks have worked together on a number of national events, including the March 2017 AMPLIFY program hosted at Starbucks’ Headquarters in Seattle, Washington. By working strategically with local Starbucks partners (employees), Hiring Our Heroes’ In Gear Career chapters will ensure that even more veterans and military spouses are job ready, developing the skills needed to continue their own career journey.
